15% of all children in the LOGOS project Morogoro in Tanzania are underweight - only 5% of them survive. Four-year-old Rachel Sipa, who has not
been able to come to the day care centre for a few days, is also affected.
Hunger has weakened her immune system to such an extent that she became ill repeatedly. In such a case, the educators in the daycare center take immediate action by
monitoring the electrolyte balance, administering fluids, giving supplementary food and controlling the increase. All this is done under medical treatment and
regular check-ups.
To permanently combat the causes of malnutrition in the region, LOGOS launches a 3-step plan:
Step 1: Prayer (prayer initiative of all local Christians)
Step 2: Formation of economic groups (with training for agriculture)
Step 3: Purchase of seeds, agricultural equipment and livestock
